Tierra Austral commits to establishing a new DRC in Aysén

Tierra Austral has signed a commitment to work on the establishment of a Derecho Real de Conservación agreement (DRC)  that will protect over 890 hectares (2200 Acres) in the Mañihuales area of the Aysén Region in perpetuity.

The objective of this agreement is to formally safeguard the biodiversity of this region, which serves as a transition zone between two ecosystems (forest and steppe scrubland) and is under threat due to the impacts of climate change and unregulated human activities that fragment ecosystems and contribute to habitat loss.
