Tierra Austral conducts a field visit to advance the opening of Parque La Giganta
Tierra Austral visited Parque La Giganta to explore its potential trails and work collaboratively in generating the necessary infrastructure and measures for its sustainable opening to the community. They ensure the constant preservation of its conservation values. The park is a private conservation initiative located in the Panquehue commune, Valparaíso Region, in the northwest headwaters of the Aconcagua Valley. It serves as a sanctuary for endemic flora and fauna species characteristic of the Mediterranean ecosystem in central Chile, an area considered one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots due to its high levels of endemism and the significant threats it faces.
