Area of high ecosystemic relevance, given that it lies inside of the Peñuelas-La Campana biological corridor, forming part of the UNESCO-recognized biosphere reserve.

A new Derecho Real de Conservación agreement formalized the permanent conservation of a new private land in the Valparaiso Region. The Los Molles Natural Reserve, covering 376 hectares, is located in the Quilpué commune, lying in the heart of the Chilean Coastal Mountain Range. One of the main objectives is to conserve and protect the sclerophyllous ecosystem and the ecological communities that inhabit it, promoting its proper restoration and management. Most notably this park homes a plethora of native species, particularly amphibians and reptiles. This area also holds significant ecological importance for the region, as it lies inside the Peñuelas-La Campana biological corridor, forming part of the biosphere reserve recognized by Unesco.
