Parque La Montaña

LOCATION: Romeral, Maule region     AREA PROTECTED: 645,62 ha

Protected Areas / Parque La Montaña

Protecting this area allows landscapes to connect, creating a biological corridor that promotes the free movement of species.

A 645-hectare zone located in the pre-mountain zone of Central Chile, preserved forever through a Derecho Real de Conservación. Parque La Montaña directly borders two other protected areas: Parque Cuenca Andina, an area of over 12,300 hectares protected in perpetuity alongside Tierra Austral and its owners, and the Alto Huemul Nature Sanctuary of more than 22,000 hectares. This connectivity of landscapes creates a critical biological corridor that allows for the free movement of species; a vital ecological corridor condition for the mitigation and adaptation to climate change.
