Fundación Tierra Austral and the company Colbún S.A. signed a groundbreaking Derecho Real de Conservación (DRC) agreement that will permanently protect 436 hectares located on the shore of Lake Chapo, in the Los Lagos Region. These lands form a critical biological corridor that connects Alerce Andino National Park and Llanquihue National Reserve. This agreement, not only preserves the natural heritage of the large majority of the area under a DRC, but also allows for recreationl activities and low-impact tourism in strategic zones.
